SJFC Updates

Dear Parents/Guardians

With Halloween upon us, I just want on behalf of the SJFC Committee to wish you all an enjoyable and safe Halloween break.

It has been an extremely busy period both on and off the field for the club with all teams now fully up and running in league and cup competitions.  I want to thank all involved for their patience and co-operation with us since the start of this season as we finalised training slots and training times to accommodate everyone given the limited resources available to us.  It is never an easy process to facilitate all requests.

Director of Football – Update
Mr Padraig Moran was appointed as our Clubs’ Director of Football.  Padraig has competed his 1st month in his new role. Padraig has been attending training sessions & matches for all our club teams. Over the course of the season, Padraig will work closely with each team and assist the team coaches with training sessions/giving advice and putting on coaching sessions with our squads.  The response to date from all coaches/parents and players has been extremely positive.

Fundraising Update
Since the start of the season, we have held two very successful fundraising events for the Club. Our Last Man Standing competition proved to be a hugely popular fundraiser with over 370 entrants.  This event has now concluded with the final three competitors sharing the grand prize.  We are extremely grateful to all of you who supported the Last Man Standing competition.  Last weekend we held our annual flag day at Smyths Super Valu in Monksland and we raised over 2,000 euro.  All proceeds raised from both fundraising events go back into the running of the club.

Thank you to all the many volunteers and committee members who gave up their free time to collect over the 2 days. Your kindness and generosity of giving up your free time is appreciated.

We want to thank Tim Dolan and all in Smyth’s Super Valu in Monksland for affording us the weekend slot to hold our flag day.  For this continued support from our local businesses, we are extremely grateful.

Ahead of this weekend’s games, Can I remind all parents/guardians attending matches in Cushla or indeed at away games to be respectful of the match officials. We are constantly reminded of this from the SFAI and our own league organisers in the MSL.  The only people allowed on the pitch side-lines are the team coaches and the match official.  All other patrons have to remain outside the rope barrier near the side of the pitch.  Can I ask all parent’s/guardians attending the games to respect our club coaches/volunteers in charge of our teams to allow them do their job in coaching the team. As ever we encourage everyone to get behind our various teams with your magnificent vocal support which is always evident at both home and away games.

Coming Soon! - St. Josephs FC Mega Christmas Draw
Please keep an eye on our club Social Media Pages over the next while where details of our Mega Christmas Draw will be released.  Tickets will be going on sale shortly. There are some wonderful prizes up for grabs and would make ideal Christmas gifts.

As Chairperson I want to express our sincere gratitude to our club PRO Mark Mulligan for all his trojan work in co-ordinating the successful Last Man Standing Competition and to our fundraising co-ordinator Kevin Murray for all his work to date in co-ordinating what will be a magnificent draw.

Enjoy the Halloween Festivities

Regards
